Drive by post today, because I am one hour from the official start of this writing retreat. My meeting with Melva is on Thursday, so I get one half day (today,) one full day (tomorrow,) and another half day (Thursday morning) before I see another human being in person. One more half day (Friday morning) and then it’s back to life as I know it.
I am both excited and scared. I get Skye time. Reading time. Art time. TV time. Nap time. Do-nothing time. At some point, no doubt, writing time, because isn’t that what I’ve been missing and craving and needing?
No internet to distract me. No domestic duties to divert me. Feline companoinship 24/7. Fully stocked refrigerator and pantry. At some point, I would hope, fully stocked me. Of not full-full, I will take enough to make it to the next rest stop.
Short post today, and that’s okay. Today is about taking in, rather than putting out. That will happen. I am looking forward to what I bring home from this retreat, be it new ideas or new life for what’s currently on deck.
When I get back, I can update the coming soon section. Looking forward to that as well.
